This shot is of a piece done at the previously-mentioned Doodleplanet. I’ve not often worked in colour at Doodleplanet, favouring the time-saving strategy of just using black. I found that the Posca yellow is really weak, but sits on top of the rest of the colours quite nicely, producing some nice secondary colours and texture. Strangely, the Posca white is really opaque, so I don’t know why they don’t just mix in some yellow to the white to get a nice opaque yellow. I’m sure it is far more complicated than that. Work in progress shot below. All photographs courtesy of the fantastic Julian Kimmings.
