Based on a true story. When I was a kid there really were some steps leading up the verge of a road and we used to tell ourselves that the Devil was waiting at the top at midnight on Halloween. Pretty terrifying, right?
This is hilarious! I love it. It got me started thinking of the ridiculous stories we told as kids and that is giving me some ideas to write down. Thanks Dan!
Hee-hee- reminds me of the genuine well known story of the ‘Devil’s Hoofprints’ said to have been seen over a wide area of Devon after a snow storm in the 1850s, and which I, growing up there in the 1960s, was of course certain must’ve gone RIGHT thro our back garden… Also, there was a fad for hanging up little devils in cars at that time, which just happened to look pretty much like the one in the cartoon…

Not to get too geeky, but what did you use for inking? I’m guessing dip pen, but what kind of nib? The lines are crazy good.
Thanks very much! I used an FPR Dilli for this one; http://www.fountainpenrevolution.com/fpr_collection.html
