I was lucky enough to be asked to do some lectures and workshops for the British Council at the Festival Internationale Bande Dessinee Algiers last week. I’ll do a more detailed writeup shortly, but here’s some of the drawings from my sketchbook that I did there. Working with watercolour was occasionally difficult as the heat meant that it dried incredibly quickly. It was between 32-35 degrees during the day. So so hot.

Dan, you should have worn a knotted hanky on your head.
I did wear a string vest and fall asleep with a newspaper over my face. I figured that’d be enough.
Were there many people at the book signing? Seems like an awfully fun thing to do.
Yeah, there was quite a few. I love doing signings. It’s fun drawing in the front of books.
thank you very much for writing this post.
also algeria does not have cable for some reason and since the dishes some channels are on different satellites so multiple tvs cannot share one dish
